A change is coming

Marketown Shopping Centre is pleased to announce a $2.5m upgrade to the western precinct with construction works commencing Monday 9th March 2020. The upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of June 2020.
Once completed, you'll be able to see the following changes when visiting Marketown West:
  • New look entry statement visible from King & National Park Streets,
  • New & improved Food Court seating area equipped with charging points,
  • A full amenities upgrade of male, female, disabled and parents room facilities
  • An improved outdoor dining precinct with more seating for you to enjoy your meal, plus a stage area for live music and a doggy parking station
  • Addition of greenery to both inside and outside precincts
  • External community art mural
The construction program will be delivered across 3 key stages, with the Coles Entry starting on Monday 9th March 2020. The second stage will see the Food Court and Amenities refurbished, followed by the final stage of the Outdoor Dining Precinct.

There will be no disruption to customers accessing the centre and all retailers will remain trading during the program due to works taking place after hours. We do however acknowledge that construction programs can change, and weather can also factor required changes. We encourage you to follow our Facebook page where we will include any centre news and updates.

There are no changes to accessing the carparks and these will always remain open as per usual.

This project follows on from previous improvements to the centre undertaken since the acquisition of the shopping centre in July 2017. These include modernising the exterior of the Marketown West building, an improved ticketless parking facility, plus an improved fire emergency system.

This capital project is an exciting milestone for Marketown and upon completion will provide comfortable and modern dining spaces for our customers to enjoy, especially given the last upgrade occurred in 2008 by the previous centre owners. The project will also see up to 200 workers employed across a range of trades during the program.
